Defect Liability Period Ended No Holdback Release Email Template
Use this page when the formal defect-liability or maintenance period has already ended, but the buyer still has not released the retained amount. This is not the same as a generic final-retention reminder. The timing trigger itself has now passed, and the supplier needs to challenge why the holdback remains even though the contractual defects window appears closed. Your email should ask what date the buyer recognizes as the end of the liability period, whether any unresolved claim is still being used to justify the hold, whether partial release can happen immediately, and when the remaining retained funds will be paid. The outcome you want is to turn an expired defects period into a dated release obligation. It is commercially strong because the supplier is no longer waiting on future performance; it is asking why contractually time-bound retained cash is still being withheld after the trigger for release has already passed.
